Kim Conterio (owner) has been knitting since she was 8 years old and is thrilled that her favorite pasttime has become a national obsession! She opened Bella Yarns in 2003 and ran the store solo until Naomi became her business partner in 2008. She has had patterns published by two small yarn companies: Sheep Shop Yarns (now out of business) and Farmhouse Yarns. She has a pattern in 101 Designer One-Skein Wonders and has another pattern in the forthcoming One-Skein Wonders devoted to sock yarn. Also a magician and thrill seeker, she manages to knit (almost) every day while being the mother of two young children!

Naomi Herzfeld (owner) is a long time knitter and fiber enthusiast and became a full partner in Bella Yarns in 2008. She loves to play with texture and color in her knitting and weaving and she has the stash to prove it! She has a weaving studio the shop and teaches all of our weaving classes. You would not believe what she can do with a rigid heddle loom and a couple of stitch holders! Naomi has been designing shawls, scarves and small garments for herself for years but has just recently sold some of her designs to national yarn companies. Check out her Lace Edge Swirl Shawl for Skacel and her Inside Out Baby Blanket for Cascade. We all look forward to the publication of the next One Skein Wonders book which will feature 2 of Naomi's designs! And for a taste of her personal philosophy on handwork, listen to her "This I Believe" segment recorded for Rhode Island Public Radio.
